This model home is now available for sale for $499,900!  Please call (860) 875-2571 or 1-800-673-2534 for details.

The model home at Ellington Highlands is the Abington design.  This home was named "Best Single Family Home between 2000 and 3000 square feet in Connecticut" by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut.

The house is 2836 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths plus a loft and bonus room.  The wrap around porch features a gazebo.

The model home sits on a lot that is over 1 acre. There are nice views of the countryside.

LP Decorating handled the interior decorating for this fully furnished home. The master bedroom furniture is from Kloter Farms Country Store in Ellington.  Other furnishings came from various stores including Domain, The Hitchcock Chair Company,  and Puritan Furniture.

The model home kitchen is truly a gourmet's delight.  Solid surface Corian countertops with a built-in drainboard rest atop the caramel colored raised panel maple door cabinets. The upper cabinets are 42" tall and feature cathedral top doors. An optional glass mullion door is in the corner above the lazy susan. These upgraded cabinets are built by Homecrest and called Stratton Cathedral Caramel. The sink is made of Corian and has an upgraded Moen faucet. Appliances include the new natural gas Maytag Gemini Double Oven Range along with a Kenmore dishwasher, disposer, microwave hood,  and refrigerator. The kitchen floor is tiled.

The Ellington model home kitchen features some convenient options to help with clean up.

The suction power from the built-in vacuum pan in the kitchen island makes cleaning easier. A built-in double basket next to the sink slides out to allow for separating garbage and recycling.

In the nook is a desk area and wine cabinet with a Kenmore wine cooler. The leaded glass Peachtree front door with transom above is visible from the nook.

The house features five Velux insulated glass skylights. There is a fixed skylight over the whirlpool bathtub and a manually operable skylight in the bonus room. There are 3 skylights in the solarium all of which  have electric pleated shades which can be opened and closed using a remote control. 2 of the 3 skylights open and close via remote control.  The motor for these skylights comes as part of the skylight.  These skylights won an award in 2002 from the Home Builders Association of Connecticut for "Best Labor Saving Technology".  Outside the sliding glass door is adeck made with Trex, a wood and plastic composite.

The family room is shown in the photos below.

The loft overlooks the family room which features a spectacular front window.

The master bath has a whirlpool tub plus a shower with a vertical spa by Moen.

The bonus room  is pictured above.   Between the two windows there is a  remote controlled direct vent natural gas fireplace. The lack of a chimney is highlighted by the 43" inch television built in above the fireplace.  The bonus room fireplace is one of  two  Heat-N-Glo fireplaces in the home.  the other is a wood burning fireplace in the family room

Just as is done at other homes at Ellington Highlands, Titeflex Gastite corrugated stainless steel tubing has been used in place of traditional black iron gas piping in parts of the model..) There is a Heil 90% efficient natural gas direct vent furnace.  This type of furnace is planned for other homes at Ellington Highlands if the homes have forced air heat.

The house has a sound system and a security system installed by Mule Security

The model has four other styles of Homecrest cabinetry. The master bath has the white raised panel Harbor Court upgrade and the main bath has the standard oak door, Summerfield Natural.  Above the  Kenmore washer and dryer is optional Mora Bay white cabinetry. The optional wet bar in the bonus room has a built-in Kenmore compact refrigerator and Signature Square  raised panel oak doors.  Except  for the recessed lights, light fixtures in this home are supplied by Progress Lighting. Faucets for this home and others at Ellington Highlands are supplied by Moen. The sink in the powder room is an upgraded pedestal sink from Kohler. The upstairs bathrooms feature cultured marble tops with integral sinks manufactured by Syn-Mar Products.
